Our committee recently paid visits to ACOGEM (Asociación de Acogida a Inmigrantes y Marginados) and ASMS (Asociación Solidaridad Madres Solteras), in order to learn more about them. We will be making donations of baby clothing to ASMS and of food, used clothing and household items to ACOGEM. Also, we were happy to arrange for ACOGEM to pick up children’s items through member Amber Wigmore. Should any individuals wish to do the same, please contact this committee.

In this issue of our bulletin, I would like to give some information on Fray Damián Coll, whom we have been supporting for many years. He is a parish priest in Vallecas who provides Saturday activities for underprivileged boys in his area, as well as a summer camp program in Menorca for them. He also helps the boys’ families in numerous ways. We have been glad to support the boys with money for school supplies and camp scholarships.

As the holiday season is approaching, we will be placing baskets in the clubhouse so that members may bring in donations of rice and oil, which we will take to ACOGEM for the needy. Whatever you can bring in will be greatly appreciated.
