November is quite a busy month for the library with the used book table at the Christmas Bazaar. Right now plenty of help is needed for this big event. Any and all book donations are greatly appreciated. We will take any language, though English and Spanish are the most sought after books. Children’s books and cookbooks are especially hot items. PLEASE NO VIDEOS OR CASSETTES since these formats are now obsolete. Also, NO ENCYCLOPEDIAS since these do not sell and take up too much space. These should be brought to the club by Wednesday, November 19, so we can have them priced on Thursday, latest. Volunteers are needed for pricing during the month of November and also on the day of the bazaar. We start setting up around 10 AM and can use workers for setup and in 2-3 hour shifts during the bazaar. Be sure to contact me or Nancy at the clubhouse if you can help on that day, as well as which time you would be available. We usually start picking up right at the end of the bazaar until all the boxes are packed so we can always use extra people around 7 PM. I also would like to do a book culling in the library the beginning of November to make more shelf space available for new book purchases. If you’d be interested in helping out, just let me know and we’ll try to coordinate a day when the club is fairly quiet and as many people as possible can come. Friday would probably be a good day since there are usually no activities scheduled then. I’ll e-mail club members when I plan on doing the culling.
Also, be sure to tell your friends to come to the bazaar. We have a very good book selection there and the prices are perfect for the “crisis”. Remember that our prices are some of the best in town for used books so it’s the right time for your Christmas shopping!
I look forward to seeing you at the club or the bazaar!
Happy reading!
