Although not married to a Spaniard, she and her Canadian/Portuguese husband expect to remain in Madrid indefinitely. Sandra arrived in Madrid this past summer where her American husband took a post with the U.S. Embassy. They live in the Pozuelo de Alarcón area with their four (4) children, so she keeps very busy. She makes sure she has time with friends and time to read. We’re sure she’ll find time to peruse the AWC library for some favorites.

Wanda is Dutch and married to an Austrian. They live in the Boadilla del Monte area with their teenage daughter. As a psychologist and furniture designer she demonstrates quite diverse talents. She also enjoys skiing, art, architecture, films, books and music.

Linda arrived recently from Pittsburgh, PA where she was a Systems Manager/Analyst for 16 years and also an Assistant Youth Minister at her church. Her American husband is working for IBM. They have 7-year old twin boys, and live in the Santo Domingo (Algete) area. Linda has already volunteered for the Holiday Bazaar, and we welcome her help. We’re certain she’ll have fun and make some new friends quickly.

Lisa also recently arrived in Madrid with her American husband who works for IBM. She was a Manager of children’s centers at Google in the States. Besides enjoying time with her 8 and 10-year old daughters, she enjoys gardening, swimming, biking, hiking, baking and reading.

Spanish born Raquel is married to a Turkish man, and they expect to be in Madrid indefintely. Raquel has lived in Israel, Argentina and Turkey where she was a member of the American Women’s Club in Istanbul. She enjoys theatre, cinema and English literature, and speaks French and Turkish.

Having just moved from London, Angela joined the Bring & Buy team and other AWC members for Bring & Buy set up and a cocido lunch – a great introduction to Spain and AWC. Angela’s been a teacher and an Office Manager while raising three daughters now grown. She enjoys antiques, Mah Jongg, hiking, art, interior design, yoga and tennis.
