Charity

A vital aspect of the AWC is its commitment to helping those less fortunate in the Madrid area. Each year, we dedicate both financial and human resources to improve the quality of life of those in need. Our Charity Committee is in constant touch with the different charities the AWC helps. Among the organizations that receive the AWC’s assistance are the following:

ASION which helps children with cancer and their families, which helps marginalized people, by providing food, clothing, classes and job-search help
SAN SIMON DE ROJAS a soup kitchen which provides over 300 breakfasts a day, clothing, and household articles to people struggling to make ends meet
DAMIAN COLL who provides summer camp and weekly activities for underprivileged boys, as well as support to their families
NUESTRA SRA. DE LOS DESAMPARADOS a residence for girls whose parents cannot care for them during the week
SOCIAL ASCENSION SANCHEZ a temporary residence for homeless new mothers and their children, which also provides classes and job-search help
MARIA DE LA PAZ a home serving middle-aged alcoholic men until retirement age, as well as a shelter for homeless people during cold weather
