AWC Supports Círculo de Cooperación to Help Nepal

in

Congratulations to long-time AWC member Barbara Wenger and family on the safe repatriation of their daughter Cristina Po Wenger from Nepal. (see attached photo) Cristina has been working in Nepal as a volunteer for the NGO Circulo de Cooperacion at a charity school in Bhaktapur. She has decided to temporarily return from her adopted country Nepal in order to coordinate the campaign for aid to be sent in the wake of the devastating earthquake. She feels that for now she can be of more use here in Europe than in Nepal. The NGO Círculo de Cooperación is a small hands-on organization that assures that all aid received will go directly to the Nepalese people. The American Women’s Club would like to collaborate with Círculo de Cooperación and encourages all of our friends to do likewise. Below are the details of how you can make a donation, large or small, to provide generous, courageous volunteers such as Cristina with the resources to help rebuild Nepal.
Donations can be made by bank transfer to “Circulo de Cooperacion”
At Kutxabank.

May Bring and Buy Set Up and Sale

in

Our May Bring and Buy Sale will take place on Monday, May 11th from 10,30 to 2. We'll be setting up for the sale on Thursday and Friday, May 7th and 8th from 11 until about 4 p.m. We'll be looking for donations of all those lighter garments that just don´t seem to have a place in your wardrobe any more. We can make good use of all your gently worn spring/summer clothing as well as of your donations of toys, household gadgets and linens, shoes, jewelry, accessories, handbags, etc. Bring them all to the Clubhouse any weekday from 10-4. You can even bring things in on the day of the Sale itself. It goes without saying that anyone, whether an AWC member or not, is welcome to donate items to our Bring and Buy. Our monthly Bring and Buy Sale provides us with funds for Club overhead costs and for our charitable causes. We´d likewise appreciate all volunteers possible for the set up and the sales day. The more helping hands we have, the faster we can finish our chores. No heavy work involved if you´re not up to it. If you need more information about the Sale or how to make donations, ring the Club weekdays from 10-4 at 91-457-1108 or at our new mobile phone at
636 863 923.
