AWC Annual Holiday Bazaar, Sunday Nov. 23rd

Save the date!! Sunday, Nov. 23rd!! AWC Annual Holiday Bazaar at the Hotel Intercontinental from noon-7p.m. A great time for all! Food and drink, entertainment for adults and children, plenty of stalls/stands to shop at, raffle and tombola prizes. Don´t miss it and spread the word. If you are interested in working as a volunteer at the Bazaar or in donating items to be used as prizes, please contact the Club on weekdays from 10-4 at 91-457-1108 The attachment below has posters in English and Spanish for you to hang at your office, school, shopping center, etc. See you at the Bazaar!!

MONDAY- October 20th- - Bridge at 11 a.m. and Bridge Lesson at 2,30 p.m.

TUESDAY- Handicrafts and Patchwork Group meets at 11 a.m., along with the Mahjong crowd at the same time. Canasta group meets at 2,30 p.m. If you want to do a morning activity, you can always stay on for a light lunch at the Club and then, if you´d like, join the Canasta players.

WEDNESDAY- Book Lovers Book Club (BLBC) meets at 11,30. Not your typical book Club with mandatory reading. Drop in and see what it’s all about!!

New Format for Hartbeeps Moms and Babies Sessions

The format for the Hartbeeps Moms and Babies sessions is going to become even more sociable on Fridays. Parents will have more time to get to know each other, to make a morning of their stay at AWC, with the possibility of a light lunch after all the fun is over. Mom and babies offering 2 hour stay and free flow play on key areas of learning and development, with a big FUN and very funky Baby Disco at the end of each session. Not necessary to be an AWC member to bring your children/grandchildren to these sessions.

Exciting, interactive and fun! Mom & Tots music and playgroup for babies from newborn up to five-years-olds. Sessions designed by experts, fueled by magic, and delivered with love! Hartbeeps puts your child at the heart of our magical, musical adventures. The most original music clases for babies, toddlers, and pre-schoolers on the planet. Paper copies will be available at the Clubhouse sometime during the week of Sept. 22nd, so let Nancy know if you´ll be picking up your copy in person so as to save on postal charges.

MONDAY, September 8th the American Women’s Club will be holding its monthly Bring and Buy Sale at the Clubhouse from 10,30 a.m. – 2 p.m. Remember that we are located at Plaza República del Ecuador, 6. That´s right next to Talleres Ecuador and walking distance from Metro Colombia. Phone 91-457-1108.

Bring and Buy Set Up on Thursday and Friday, Sept. 4th and 5th

Our next AWC monthly Bring and Buy Sale will be held on Monday, September 8th from 10,30-2. We will be needing helping hands on Thursday the 4th and Friday 5th to set up the sale, especially for hanging up and classifying merchandise. We’ll be there from 10,30 – 4 on both Thursday and Friday for the set up, so please drop in and give us a hand. And we could also use some help on the morning of the sale to attend customers and then to clean up from 2,00-4,30. You can bring in your donations for the sale any weekday from 10-4. In addition to clothing, we also accept kitchen accessories and household linens, small pieces of furniture, handbags, shoes, jewelry, and toys in good condition. The American Women’s Club is located at Plaza de Ecuador, n. 6, the blue door between Talleres Ecuador and the furniture shop. AWC Clubhouse Has Reopened and September Bulletin Now Online

Many AWC members and friends are still on vacation. But the AWC Clubhouse opened for business as usual on Monday, August 18th. During the month of August our Clubhouse opening hours are 10 a.m. to 3 p.m. Feel free to drop in to get to know us. Or ring the Clubhouse at 91-457-1108. We are located at Plaza República del Ecuador, 6. The metro station Colombia (the pink line that goes to the Airport) is just a short walk from the Club.

Remember that to become a member of AWC it is not mandatory to be an American citizen. However, a reasonable command of spoken English is recommendable, as most of our activities are in English. Speaking of activities, to get an idea of what is planned for this autumn, take a look at the online version of our September bullletin.
