The paper edition of the AWC Bulletin for May 2015 has arrived at the Club. Please notify Nancy if you´ll be picking up your copy in person so that we can save on postal charges. The BIG EVENT in May is our Fundraiser for Charity, a flat shoe/sneakers dance-your-feet-down-to-the-nubs event on Saturday evening, May 23rd at a gym in Pozuelo de Alarcón. All profit made will be given to our charitable causes. For more information on this event, see page 13 of the May 2015 bulletin.

WEDNESDAY- Annual General Meeting and Social Meeting starting at 11 a.m., with “Sevillanas” dancing class afterwards. Andalusian style lunch to follow for those interested.
THURSDAY – Bridge at 11. ALSO ON THURSDAY- Tea Tasting Event at 11 a.m. at tea blender Beatriz Gallego’s home in the Arroyo del Fresno area. Limited places available, for more information contact Annie at awcmadridpresident@gmail.com ALSO ON THURSDAY- Country Line Dancing at this year’s venue starting at 12,30.
FRIDAY- Hartbeeps Baby Rock Café for Mom & Tots music and play group for babies from seven months old up to five-years-olds. Contact nuria@hartbeeps.com or call 629-117-627 to pre-register or for further information. ALSO ON FRIDAY- Wine and Tapas Girls Night Out at the Club starting at 7 p.m.

April Bring and Buy Set Up and Donation Quest

in

Our April 13th Bring and Buy Sale (10,30-2) will be our first sale of the spring/summer season. So please take advantage, and bring in all those lighter items that you know you won´t be using again. We can make good use of all your gently worn spring/summer clothing as well as of your donations of toys, household gadgets and linens, shoes, jewelry, accessories, handbags, etc. Bring them all to the Clubhouse any weekday from 10-4. You can even bring things in on the day of the Sale itself. We will be setting up for the April Sale on Thursday and Friday, April 9th and 10th. from 11 a.m. until about 4 p.m. Everyone, whether an AWC member or not, is welcome to donate items to our Bring and Buy. Our monthly Bring and Buy Sale provides us with funds for Club overhead costs and for our charitable causes. We´d likewise appreciate all volunteers possible for the set up and the sales day. The more helping hands we have, the faster we can finish our chores. No heavy work involved if you´re not up to it. If you need more information about the Sale or how to make donations, ring the Club weekdays from 10-4 at 91-457-1108.

Easter 2015 Opening and Closing Dates

AWC will be open for our regular activities on Monday and Tuesday, March 30th and 31st. There will be bridge on Monday at 11 a.m. Tuesday will be a busy day, with Handicrafts and Mahjong kicking off at 11 a.m. The Canasta group will get together at 2,30 on Tuesday afternoon. The Club will close at 4 p.m. on Tuesday, March 31st for the Easter holidays and will reopen on Monday, April 6th at 10 a.m. Happy Easter to all!!!

MONDAY- March 23rd - Bridge at 11 a.m.
TUESDAY- Handicrafts and Patchwork Group meets at 11 a.m., along with the Mahjong crowd at the same time. Canasta group meets at 2,30 p.m.
WEDNESDAY- Social Meeting with a talk on the topic “Conflict with Others, How and When to Use the Secret Weapon” by psychotherapist Nerieda Gómez. Coffee at 11, with the talk starting at 11,30 or so. ALSO ON WEDNESDAY- Cine at AWC. Come for lunch first at 1,30 if you´d like. The movie will start directly after lunch.
THURSDAY- Bridge at 11 a.m. Country Line Dancing at 12,30 at our usual venue. Wine and Tapas Evening from 7 p.m.- 10 p.m.
