On Tuedsay, February 8, at 11am, moms of all ages are invited to come to the clubhouse for a morning get together. Light snacks and beverages will be provided. And if anyone has any little ones running around feel free to bring them along as well!

Meyers-Briggs Personality Test

Tomorrow, January 22nd, we'll be having a certified Meyers-Briggs specialist in to administer the MB Personality Test. For those unfamiliar with the test, The Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI) assessment is a psychometric questionnaire designed to measure psychological preferences in how people perceive the world and make decisions. After scoring the test, our certified instructor will give us our personality indicators and explain how we communicate and how to communicate with other personalities. This will be a most fascinating event!

Social Meeting Friday!

On Friday 15th our monthly Social meeting is for gathering and planning. We received several appreciative comments on the January bulletin with pictures of our many activities. Now we need to plan the rest of 2010 and that means NOMINATIONS for next year's Board. Please try to come on Friday 15th and invite your friends and neighbors! 11:00 at the clubhouse!

As the holidays draw near, the AWC clubhouse will be closing on Thursday, December 24th, and reopening on Monday, January 4th. There's still a few days left to check out books from the library or stop by the clubhouse for a chat. If you need to contact someone from AWC during this time, please e-mail secretary@awcmadrid.com and someone will get back to you shortly.

AWC 55th Anniversary Party

This Friday, December 18th at 11:30am, the AWC will celebrate it's 55th Anniversary. Please join us at the clubhouse for a variety of desserts, a prize raffle, and for old presidents who will be speaking about past experiences. This is a great opportunities for members to see one another before the busy holidays.

If you're planning on attending, please contact Nancy at the club.

Night Out at Aveda Salon

Aveda Salon and Spa has generously offered AWC Madrid a special night out at their salon. This Wednesday, from 7-9pm, Aveda will be closed to the public and open for AWC members to enjoy spa services and receive hair and skin consultations. Services being offered include aromatherapy hot towels, hand and neck massages and much more. Personally speak with an expert in skin or hair care to find out how you can look your best. As a special holiday gift, Aveda will be giving 15% discount on all products, greeting AWC members with a glass of cava, and will be giving each participant an Aveda travel pack worth 26 Euros!

This first week of December will be a busy one at AWC. On Thursday, December 5th, we're trimming the AWC Christmas tree. Then later that evening we'll be having, back by popular demand, a seminar on reflexology. Don't forget about the Pilates classes on Wednesday and Friday. Instructor Chrystal is determined to whip us up into shape before the holidays. Then on Saturday we'll have the AWC Kid's Christmas Party- with a special apperance by Santa. Check out the bulletin for more details on upcoming events. And don't forget to look at the latest Bazaar photos.

If you stop by the club house this week, don't be surprised if it's difficult to get through the door. With the Bazaar only a few days away, donations have been pouring in. Over the past week AWC has received 3 large gift baskets from Aveda, multiple espresso machines and cups, 3 huge boxes filled with Avon products, and so much more.

This week- Cooking demo, social meeting, and kids activity!

The American Women's Club is preparing for another busy week. On Tuesday, November 10th, member Susan Raynaud, will be demonstrating how to make a leek tart and pear pie. Susan's tarts are always flaky and delicious, and this is a highly anticipated and recommended event. 1:30 AWC clubhouse
