The February Bulletin has gone to press. Paper copies will be available at the Clubhouse at some point during the last week of January. Please notify Nancy if you plan to drop by and pick up your copy in person, as it cuts down on postal expenses. Until you have your paper copy, take advantage and check out the online version. MONDAY- January 19th - Bridge at 11 a.m.
TUESDAY –Handicraft /Patchwork and Mahjong groups meet at 11 a.m. and Canasta group meets at 2,30 p.m.
WEDNESDAY- Social Meeting at 11 a.m. starting with coffee time and then followed by a talk on Spanish inheritance law procedures. See article directly below titled "Inheritance Talk..." for details.
THURSDAY- Bridge at 11 a.m. ALSO ON THURSDAY- Country Line Dancing at 12,30 p.m. at our usual venue.
FRIDAY- Daughters of the American Revolution (DAR) will show the film “The Golden Door” at the Clubhouse starting at 5,30 p.m. Details in the article directly below. AWC members and their guests welcome, but please notify Nancy if you plan to attend.
In order to plan for next week's activities, we need to know how many people to expect for the special events scheduled for Wednesday, Jan. 21st and for Friday, Jan. 23rd.
Wednesday, Jan. 21st will feature a presentation on Spanish inheritance law procedures, to be done jointly by an American AWC member who went through the trying period of losing her Spanish husband and then dealing with the crushing paperwork, along with notary Blanca Valenzuela. Coffee and munchies will start at 11 a.m., with the talk to kick off some time after 11,30. Sign up with Nancy by calling her weekdays 10-4 at 91-457-1108.
Friday, Jan. 23rd the DAR (Daughters of the American Revolution) will be showing the film "The Golden Door" at 5,30 at the Clubhouse. The film depicts the difficulties and hopes of the immigrants who passed through the "golden doors" of Ellis Island. No need to be a DAR member. All AWC members and their guests are welcome. Free popcorn and you can purchase drinks. Let Nancy know if you´re coming so we can set out enough chairs. Ring her weekdays from 10-4 a 91-457-1108.
